Tips and Info About E-Mail

If you are only interested in having a special e-mail address (such as you@yourname.com) and you don't require an entire website, then all you need is some sort of e-mail service. You can usually get this from the company who registered your domain name.

For example, if you registered www.yourname.com through Go Daddy, they offer several options which would allow for anywhere from one to five e-mail boxes (such as you@yourname.com, bob@yourname.com, info@yourname.com, etc.) with varying amounts of disk space for varying prices. You could purchase one of those options and have the ability to check your e-mail from any computer with internet access or simply set up Outlook Express or Apple Mail to retrieve and send e-mail for you while you are home.

If you need a website in addition to your e-mail, then it's best to use your web host's e-mail services...most web hosting companies automatically offer at least one e-mail box with any of their account options. There's no sense in paying for e-mail services from Go Daddy if you're just going to go pay for web hosting services from somewhere else where you'll get an e-mail box anyway.
